Articles, Pamphlets & Sermons

Every year thousands of Christians amble down to their local county courthouse and obtain a marriage license from the State in order to marry their future spouse. They do this unquestioningly. They do it because their pastor has told them to go get one, and besides, “everybody else gets one.” This pamphlet attempts to answer […]

The Bible and Property Tax
October 4, 2015

The Scriptures address all matters of life – including land matters. The property tax is an evil which the Scriptures speak against and which pulpits across this nation should denounce. Let me prove this to you. Let me ask you – who owns the land? Because we live in a statist nation, most people believe […]

Is Education Comprehensive or Selective?
December 12, 2013

I spend much time out on university campuses preaching. I often have some of my children with me when I do so. The question always arises at some point – “Why aren‟t your kids in school?” I explain that we homeschool our children. This always results in the accusation that my wife and I – […]

Sodomy, a Rogue Congress, and the Rule of Law by Rev. Matthew Trewhella In late December 1989, General Vasile Milea, who was the Romanian Minister of Defense, was ordered by Romania’s leader, Nicolae Ceausescu, to shoot demonstrators who opposed Ceausescu’s rule. HONDURAS CONFLICT: The Lesser-Magistrate Doctrine in Action

They are threatening them with economic destruction in an attempt to get them to capitulate their sovereignty and freedom. They want to make examples of them lest any other upstarts get the idea to preserve their Constitution and liberty from tyrants.

We must remember that all authority is delegated. No man who holds State office rules autonomously. The authority he has is delegated to him by God. Hence, all those in positions of authority stand accountable to God. This is why the practice of the church historically has been – when the State commands that which God forbids or forbids that which God commands, we have a duty to obey God rather than man. The Bible clearly teaches this principle.

Social Security is an unBiblical, idolatrous system for the following reasons: 1. Social Security is a violation of the 1st Commandment. God says in Exodus […]

by Rev. Matthew Trewhella On Tuesday, June 14th, 2016, the U.S. Senate passed a bill which for the first time would require American females to register for the military draft. The daughters of most all of these Senators are past the age where they would be part of the draft – yet they have no […]

Why We Did the Billboard Campaign
September 25, 2000

In the Spring of 2000, Mercy Seat Christian Church sponsored a Billboard Campaign focused on the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution: THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. We believe that God’s Word, the Bible, speaks to all matters of life. Therefore, we have a holy duty before God to declare the whole counsel of […]
